ReplyDeleteHey I checked them out! My favorite character so far is Erwen <3. He is my favorite type, looks and personality wise! He kinda reminds me of Yuta from Kubera :D. Second would be Elmer! Neko Boys~ ^^. He looks like the cutest thing but his personality is the total opposite! And lastly the most entertaining one to me was Lanuy. I like how his name is Yunal's backwords and I just love his likes and dislikes xD. Thanks for sharing your OC's with me!

DeleteIn the Otome game "April Was a Fool" there is an yandere. The only problem is that if get the good ending he suddenly gets "cured" of his yandereness, so if you want to see him go full yandere mode you gotta get the bad ending. But it's worth it, trust me. Also he is adorable and the game is free, so... XD

Deleteshinobi shijuusou manga. You should read this manga its only 5 chapters in and might be a little too early but there is this one character called"Ujou Tougou " and i feel he is somewhat a male yandere ... check him out and see what you think haha :)

DeleteI though of another one! It's a movie with Jennifer Lopez called Boy Next Door. I love the fact that he's the younger one, and damn right crazy. It has murders, stalking and the like so yeah yandere in western movies :). And Before I Go To Sleep with Nicole Kidman is very creative and is a lot like Atashi wa Sore o Gaman Dekinai story two's plot, but not so happy ending. It also has a book, also worth reading.

DeleteI think theres an anime/manga/video game, you forgot with a male yandere who doesn't get much love. His names Kizami Yuuya, and he is from Corpse Party (tortured souls is the game) So you should add him to the list because Kizami goes for the 14 year old Yuka and even kills her in the anime, thats just my opinion, thanks for listening!

ReplyDeleteAang in Avatar The Last Airbender is sometimes yandere. Not very often but every time Katara is in danger he goes in the avatar state and destroy. He eventually killed but it was'nt shown. His "yandere" (if you can call this yandere..) moments are rarely but the anime is good.
I watched My Life as a Teenage Robot as a child and forgot about Sheldon! I wouldn't go as far as call him yandere though since it is a show for kids. I've watched Avatar also but I wouldn't consider Aang yandere either since that show is also a "kid's" show.

DeleteIn Harvest Moon Animal Parade one of the bachelors, Gill, was this tsundere-yandere thing going on. Most of the time he's more tsundere than anything, so he isn't allways yandere, but when he is things like this happen: "Just seeing you talk to another man is painful...Sometimes, I wish you wouldn't see anyone else but me...".

ReplyDeleteHey I am familiar with Kyou. I think I have one of his yandere scenes in One Time Yanderes. I agree that he has more yandere moments outside of that scene but I don't know to what extent since it's been a while reading the manga. I will say for now he might be borderline.

ReplyDeleteI'm putting the link for this, but I'm not sure if it qualifies. This is a hard core Hetalia yaoi doujin I found today. Basically England wants Spain's love, but wasn't getting it, so he drug's Spain's drink and rapes him. The English is clunky because who ever translated it did an almost literal translation, but the art is pretty.
I read it and it was good stuff xD.
Deleteso i've commented here before mentioning a couple books with yanderes in them. i mentioned dusk by tecoop on wattpad, which at the time wasn't complete. i read the ending and WOW the yandere in it is genuinely nuts. the best part is that i think the author intends to put in more yandere scenes!
ReplyDeletei also wanna recommend a book i read recently. it's called "red queen" by victoria aveyard. of course there's a yandere in it :D i don't really wanna spoil who he is, but his yandereness is sort of hinted at throughout the book but then reaches its peak at the very end. in the second book, "glass sword", midway through the book he says and does some VERY disturbing things to the heroine, and the ending is even better.

Deletealright, you asked for it lol :P the yandere is maven, and at first it seems like there's not a lot of yandere stuff. don't get discouraged though, because like i said, throughout the book you can kinda glimpse his yandereness, especially when he feels overshadowed by his older brother, who the main character also has feelings for.
Deleteat the end of the first book, he tells his brother (cal) that cal has always gets everything that's supposed to be his, including the mc. he then tries to get her to stay with him if i remember correctly, saying that he'll save her and stuff, but when she denies him, he gets angry and sends her and his brother to die. at that point i was pretty convinced that he was yandere, but disappointed it didn't go any farther than that. boy was i wrong.
in the second book, about midway through, they meet again. basically a lot of stuff happened, and while the mc's allies are fighting maven's men, he corners her and basically tortures her, and then cuts the letter m into her skin. (m for his name, obviously). when she tries to look at her allies, he just moves in the way of her gaze and says something like, "look at me, please." when mc and her allies escape from him, he proceeds to kill people that are important to her in order to force her to come back to him.
and... major spoiler here, but at the end of the second book, she gives in and goes back to him. he ends up putting what's pretty much a dog collar on her that's connected to a chain which he holds at all times, and tells her to kneel to him.
mc does.
it's so hard to describe how good of a yandere maven is, but if you read the books, you'll know. he's the type of yandere that you wait SO long for just to see his craziness, but when you do see it, you realize the wait was all worth it. there's one more book coming out in the series, and i'm desperately hoping for more yandere from him <3
also i recommended another book before called the young elites, which has a pretty good yandere. his name is teren santoro. sadly, you don't see much of his yandereness at all until the second book, and he's not yandere for the mc, but i'd still recommend it.
Thats...crazy. Maybe too crazy? Don't know if thats my yandere type. Which kind of yandere is he? If you had to compare him with an anime yandere which would you choose?
Deletehmmm... it's hard to say what kind of yandere maven is. i'm thinking he's more of the possessive type, willing to hurt the mc if it means she'll stay with him, but he doesn't go out of his way to do it. i don't really know of any anime yanderes to compare him to :( he's definitely not the clingy type. he sort of falls under the "if i can't have you..." trope. and i'd understand if he's not your type, usually book yanderes are much more extreme than their clingy, romantic anime counterparts.

DeleteI've read red queen and I'm not sure if maven can be considered as a yandere. There was too less yandere stuff and it looks more like he did it because he hated being overshadowed by his brother. That the mc (who he has feelings for) loves cal let just the hate to overflow. That was my impression. So I'll read the next books and wait for more. I like cal. ;P But I'm still voting for MarexMaven.

(Because I couldn't understand the most. :D) But the second part was (really) good. Maven is such a great yandere. ^^ When he appears I can understand everything! I waitet so long for his yandere actions and it was worth it. As he said "Look at me, please" I almost screamed. As he started to murder newbloods to bring her back I thought: "Yandere, Yandere OMG. He is Yandere!!!" His (love) letters were so sickening. xD I read it till the end and after the last page it knocked my socks of. (Is that the right proverb? I don't know. In german we say: "das hat mich vom hocker gehauen.")However I like it. ;D Just a question: Do you think Maven has any chance to end up with the mc? How popular is he?

Deleteas far as maven ending up with mare goes, i'd have to say it's possible. i'm thinking that the author might try to go for a redemption arc, where maven ends up becoming a good guy again. either that, or he'll have a super huge breakdown if mare rejects him again. i can also see mare finally giving in to him, and becoming a red queen just like he offered her at the end of the first book. no matter what happens, i'll probably enjoy it :P
anyway, i don't really know how popular he is with other readers, but just from looking at the book's reviews on goodreads, it seems like people like him quite a bit. personally, i think he's way more interesting than cal. there are too many guys like cal lol. and you're welcome!

Aah, you beat me into it. I think you're right with apps having not-so-great yanderes (with the exception of a PC based turned into app game Alice in the Country of Hearts and Starstruck Love). I'm also going to play both and hope its not like other app yanderes *cough* Yuri (Cinderella Contract) *cough*.

ReplyDeletehis name is warner, and he's from the shatter me series. the thing with warner is that he's an incredible yandere, and you see a lot of him in the first book, which is great! the one downside, however, is that the book series has a lot of purple prose (unnecessarily flowery, pretty writing) which is distracting for some. it was for me. there's a lot of silly little metaphors and similes and omg it ground my gears, but i kept reading for warner. he's one of the best book yanderes i've seen so far, and he's a great villain. i did, however, find his obsession with the mc a little frustrating, because i didn't like the mc, lol.
i'll leave you with a little quote of warner's from the second book, when he speaks in reference to a journal entry of the mc's where she wants to run from all the people that have hurt her:
"Do you know, I couldn't sleep for days after I read that entry. I kept wanting to know which people were chasing you down the street, who it was you were running from. I wanted to find them, and I wanted to rip their limbs off, one by one. I wanted to murder them in ways that would horrify you to hear."

Deletehello! if i had to classify warner according to nanami's yandere types, he'd probably be halfway between obsessive and possessive. he claims to be in love with the mc, and if i remember what happens in the books correctly, he constantly wants to be around her and has a bit of a breakdown when she rejects him.
Deleteas for him taking pleasure in killing people, i don't think that he truly likes doing it. he's more concerned with keeping order, and i don't think he's the type of guy to want to sully his hands with torture. he does, however, enjoy the prospect of bad things happening to the mc's love interest, and if/when someone hurts the mc, he gets obsessed with finding that someone and giving them the worst death imaginable. this isn't to say he enjoys it- it's more like he's just hellbent on having the mc understand that he'd do anything to have her.
The guy in Koufuku no Ouji-sama is eventually a yandere. The end made me though that he's also the cause for mc' misfortunate. I have the suspection that he also burned her home down so that she had to stay by him. Just the suspection. I don't know if i am right but even if i'm wrong the end (of the first cheaper) was kinda yanderish.

DeleteThere's this kdrama called Missing You or I Miss You. The male yandere was absolutely perfect, I'm sure you'll easily be able to tell who it is. You can totally just watch this drama just for him, since he's part of the main plot and he pretty much stole the spotlight throughout the entire show. Oh and he makes great eyecandy too ;)

DeleteHi, it's very relieving to see I'm not the only one to have a weakness for the darker forms of love. remy911 on tumblr has a good male yandere list, especially when it comes to drama cd. I personally have a weakness for characters, who are (obsessively) devoted to their love interest even after death/reincarnation like Laures (Seimaden), Lucifer (Angel Sanctuary), Verloren (07 Ghost), Luka (Uraboku) etc. Most likely, you know the series already and perhaps you deemed them not yandere enough. Still, allow me to introduce them to you~
ReplyDeleteRegarding Uraboku, -sadly- while Luka shows protectiveness and possessiveness, he doesn’t really show the metal instability of a typical yandere and the romance in the series between him and the main chara is pretty tame(frustratingly nonexistent) anyway. For 07 Ghost, there is also Mikage who shows strong loyality, dies for the main chara and returns to his side reincarnated as dragon baby but is (sadly) pretty much vanilla except when he was possessed. More interesting would be the “villain” Verloren(the death god)/Ayanami(human reincarnation). Does it count as yandere, if Eve, who he fell in love with (shown in very subtile ways), was killed before his eyes and died in his arms, he descended to earth in search for her soul and began to slaughter the population and was willing to kill everybody till he found her (was shown on mountains of corpses) – so God and the seven ghosts (made of his fragments) had to intervene and they split his soul, his body and his memories and sealed his body and memories away, while his soul was repeatedly reincarnated in an human body. He (conveniently) regained his memories again and you could say his real goal for everything he does during the whole series is to find her. I’d say, it should technically qualify him as yandere?
I think Laures from Seimaden also qualifies as yandere (obsessive type?). He literally became a demon for his love interest, waited for her reincarnation (by treasuring her skull for centuries???) and is willing to do really -everything- when it comes to her. I read the series over ten years ago and what left a deep impression on me when I was younger was (around volume 6) when he was slaughtering everybody, causing death and destruction everywhere to save her, he said “even the blood of all the livings things in this world pooled together, is not worth a single drop of your blood”. And when he says lines like “I love you… forever…” and “my soul is yours… forever…” he really means it~ ^///^
Lucifer in Angel Sanctuary is more tricky. Unlike Laures, he doesn’t openly admit his obsession/love for Alexiel (I personally guess, he is low-key tsundere about it XD). Uriel has also his moments for Alexiel, but in the end he’s pretty harmless. The series itself has no shortage when it comes to insane/mentally unstable characters with their twisted love. But what I loved about Lucifer was, when he was sealed into a sword and lost his memories, he longed to touch/embrace/love Alexiel - and after she was banned to earth, he searched for her and followed her reincarnations, watching over her. Even after he regained his memories, he hung around and protected/fought for Setsuna (Alexiel’s reincarnation) till his human body was destroyed. When he was working with Rociel (master of manipulation), Rociel even offered to sleep with him after he would be merged with Alexiel’s body, so I guess his aloof attitude is only a facade. He even gets a happy end (for Kaori Yuki’s standart at least). For me, he could go under the obsessive yandere type, I guess (following reincarnation cycles needs certain levels of devotion) – but it’s debatable depending on if you see the mental instability as requirement for yandere or not.
I hope, I could contribute a little to the collection(shortage) of male yandere.

Fan Le Lao from Vampire Sphere (manhua) is a borderline case so far. (Chinese names give me lots of problems, so I might have the name wrong, but he's basically the "evil?" vampire lord that shows up later on in the story.) He's the kind that's slightly cruel, but somewhat gentle to his love?

The story has three heroines. (Unfortunately, I have problems with their names, so I can't say what's her name.) It's not clear if he has feelings for her, but he definitely finds her interesting. They're enemies. His motives are probably to make the heroine submit to him, but I'm 99% sure he loves her and just doesn't realize it.
At one point in the story, he kills(?)/heavily injures her team mates and takes her captive to his castle.
He does all these courtship like things, but she's cold to him.
In the current parts, he does this magic thing (I honestly don't really get how it works) where her memories are erased and she just thinks she's a normal high school student. With her memory altered, he tries to make her fall in love with him.
Warren in the Game "Life is Strange" is Yandere. He looked innocent but he stalked the main character and beated someone up to protect her.

ReplyDeletei've found another book yandere. his name is julian, and he's from the forbidden game series. he's an awesome yandere because you don't just want the heroine to end up with him, but you actually sympathize with him. gosh, my heart bleeds for the guy. the series is actually pretty scary though, so try not to read it at night like i did :P
the only problem with the series is that it's a bit difficult to find, since it was first published in 1994 o.o i do, however, have the epub files, so if you'd like them just let me know and i'll send them along :)

ReplyDeleteMW by Osamu Tezuka is a great and dark story. Subtle call backs to very famous pieces of art (it is shonen ai). His style is a bit cartoony but it's a great story. The yandere is the main character and SUPER evil and it is graphic so be warned!
Banana Fish is another shonen ai one (also a very dark series) written in the 80's also and takes place in New York (it was an interesting setting). I thouroughly enjoyed it but it;s not for the faint of heart. I'd say there's 2 yanderes in this one. The first is the villain and he is an evil bastard. There's nothing romantic about him and you WILL hate him. The second is (SPOILER) the main character as time goes on. This one is also graphic so it's NOT for the faint of heart.
Abide in the Wind (not shonen ai) I think this one may have been mentioned before but he's great! most defiantly a clingy type. This webcomic has great
art to boot!

ReplyDeleteI reccomend the male lead , Prince Jin, in Demonic King Chases His Wife.
This novel is originally chinese I think, and there are 308 chapters translated into english right now... Out of more than 6000 apparently...
Anyway, the lead male is So yandere, like for example (SPOILER) at one point he almost strangles the heroine to death cause she tells him he's not the only man she's kissed... (END SPOILER)
And at a point before that iirc he (SPOILER) basically tells her that the only way she'll get away from him is if she kills him, while making her stab him with a knife, while he's already injured. He's super craycray in that scene.(END SPOILER2)
He also tends to hold her in place when she tries to leave, tease her, ignore her wishes, and other such things... But he also lets her get away with things he would kill anyone else for. Basically... With her he's kindof a super jealous brat, that is WAY stronger than her, and with everyone else he's an unaproachable divine evil prince. Or something.
The translator has mentioned that he changes later in the novel, I think he/she said in chapter 600 or something. Cause people keep mentioning how unreasonably possesive and jealous and yandere he's acting, and also that the heroine isn't all that interested in a relationship, even though every other paragraph of every chapter he's in goes on about how hot he is.

ReplyDeletehe's the darkling from the grisha trilogy. for a long time i was debating whether or not to recommend him because while he was indeed obsessed with the heroine, his yandere tendencies weren't as outright as other yanderes i've seen. but obviously, he IS a yandere, otherwise i wouldn't be here recommending him lol. he's also probably one of the sexiest yanderes ever, and he's so evil it hurts. no spoilers, but be prepared for a feels trip if you intend to read the whole trilogy. much love, nanami. keep doing you, homeslice.

lemme fill you in on the characters first so you don't get confused...
alina: mc, discovers at the beginning of the book that she's a sun summoner. the darkling says he wants to use her to destroy the shadow fold, but she doesn't know how to call or use her power. it only comes out in dire emergencies at first
mal: alina's best friend. they're both orphans. alina's actually in love with him but he doesn't see her feelings at ALL
the darkling: the second most powerful man in the country of ravka. he's the (however many great) grandson of the black heretic, the dude who created the shadow fold that separates ravka in two. he and every darkling before him have tried to reverse what the black heretic has done (there are man-eating monsters in the fold and it's pitch black in there. scaaary) he says he's lived for 120 years
so basically throughout the first book you see shades of the darkling's yandere tendencies, but for the longest time it seems like it's only because he wants alina for his own purposes. he kills a man who tries to harm her because he needs her power, he intercepts mal's letters to her so she forgets about him, and overall just manipulates her. he even kisses her (did i mention the kissing scenes are sexy... *squeals*) a couple of times to direct her mind away from things that he doesn't want her thinking about. at one point when he's kissing her, he tells her that he should be focused on important things, but that being with her is all he wants to do. he even asks her if he can come to her room later that night. throughout the first two thirds of the book, he just seems like a man that's conflicted, even kind, only wanting what's good for the country.
of course, his real motive is much more sinister. he wants the antlers of a special stag that will amplify alina's summoning powers. he intends to forge the antlers into a collar for alina so he can control her and make her bend to his will. and if you think that the collar is probably a sign of ownership... you'd be right. he wants alina to wear black (no other grisha is permitted to wear black besides the darkling himself, so for alina to wear black is a pretty high honour) and when mal sees her in it, with the darkling's symbol hanging from her neck, he tells alina that the darkling's all over her, that he owns her. and really, there are times when alina even admits that she WANTS to be owned by the darkling. he's seriously seductive even when he's doing the most heinous things- later on, when his true persona is revealed, he forces kisses on alina and taunts mal by telling him all about how alina practically gave herself to him. even when he's being a total d-bag, he still manages to be sexy. how, i don't know.

Deleteanyway, you really start to see his yandere tendencies after alina runs away from him and he tracks her down. at this point alina and mal have confessed their love for each other, and even though he really doesn't want alina to see how much this affects him, she does. whenever she brings up mal, he very subtly shows his displeasure, and although he could use mal because he's the best tracker in ravka, probably the world, he tries to kill mal once he has alina collared so that mal won't stand in the way of his relationship with her.
the fact is, the darkling will have you questioning what his true feelings are. he really doesn't take alina's constant rejection well, and he goes crazy over her multiple times. grisha power works in a way that if you use it frequently, you extend your lifespan. normally, grisha live long lives, but never past one hundred years. it turns out that the darkling is actually the black heretic and that he's lived for centuries, biding his time and waiting for alina so he can expand the shadow fold to keep ravka's enemies in check and rule the country. because alina is the light to his dark, she will be immortal just as he is, and he truly believes that she'll grow to love him as the years pass. there's a point in the third book where he grows frustrated with her pushing him away and says "I will strip away all that you know, all that you love, until you have no shelter but me." he really intends to take away everything that alina holds dear so that she'll HAVE to go to him in the end. but... massive spoiler here, he actually dies in the end, and alina kills him. alas, poor villain. the darkling will be missed :(
tl;dr, spoilers galore. the darkling is a yandere of epic proportions. not only is he an ax-crazy, handsome devil, he's also one of the only villains that have made me cry.

Deleteas for him being a bit like warner... i guess i could see that, considering warner wanted to use juliette's powers for his own purposes. i think the difference between the darkling and warner is that warner is very clearly in love with juliette, and he makes his feelings for her plain as day. the darkling, on the other hand, doesn't really like showing his emotions, not even to alina. i'd also say that in all honesty the actions the darkling takes after alina runs away are maven-esque, although they, as characters, are totally different :P

ReplyDeletei think i may have found a potential book yandere. his name is jace, and he's from a wattpad novel called outlier, by tecoop. i recommended one of her books here before. the thing is, while there's clear proof of a yandere in dusk, i'm not sure if jace is a yandere. he's definitely obsessed with the mc, venus, but with only 7 chapters posted so far, it's hard to tell. i think he wants her for his own motivations and goals and not because he's romantically interested in her, but i really think that might change. he gives her endless chances and overall just wants her for himself, whether she's willing to come with him or not.

ReplyDeleteThe love rival for a mostly fluffy shoujo manga called Nanohana no Kare is starting to show yandere tendencies towards the heroine as of chapter 11. It's still up for debate if he'll go full blown yandere, but he dated the heroine while they were in middle school and hurt her and now that he found out about how in love with the main love interest she is and it caused him to think she belongs to him because he's the one who hurt her.
I'd keep an eye on him.

I've heard Sou from Ozmafia is a yandere. I haven't finished his route yet but I just wanted to give you a heads up since it's English release was a few days ago. =)
ReplyDeleteSo this isn't really a recommend, but did you know that the same developer (cheritz) for the otome game Nameless and Dandelion are releasing a new game in June? Its called 'Mystic Messenger' and its supposed to be an otome game for your phone! I'm not normally into otome games on the phone, but i absolutely adore Cheritz games, especially considering all of the yandere goodness they pack into them! I really hope you get a chance to play it when it comes out, it seems like it'll be amazing! (/OuO)/
ReplyDeleteHere's an anime that's way under the radar(Cuticle detective inaba).The yandere in this is named "yuta sasaki",he's the blond one and yes he looks like a girl and dresses like one .But he is the most creepiest yandere you will ever see.
ReplyDeleteI found more stuff. At first a fanfiction. It's called Silver Dawn and belongs to Red Queen. And the yandere is...of course, it's Maven. xD But don't read it if you have not read Glass Sword. It plays after GS and contains spoiler. Maven went here full yandere and I'm so glad to found it. It's really good.
ReplyDeleteThe next yandere is from a Manhwa called Dice-the world cube that changes everything. Nah you can't really call him yandere but he has some yandere traits. At first I tried to consider the mc as a yandere but he isn't really. (But he has a bit yandere potental. If his love interest dies i think he would went beserk.)So the next is also a time pauser (forgot his name)who has an ill girlfriend which could every second die. And he is willingly to save her even it means he has to kill people. He does. And he is a bit overprotective. When another Dicer appears he reacts agressive.
Even the yandere here is borderline the manhwa is worth to read. I highly recommend it.

ReplyDeletei have some very promising recommendations! they're both on wattpad. the first is "lovely obsession" by dreaming daniela. it happens to be complete, and i binge read it a little while ago. it's pretty well written and super compelling. it's also in the mystery category, so if you're into that you should for sure check it out!
the second is from tecoop (yeah, HER again). it's called the young gods. it only has two chapters last time i checked (but i think she might have updated it again because i just got a notification for it LOL) so i'm not really sure who the yandere will be. from the description, there are three main characters, and two of them are guys. i'm thinking it might be the first guy because the other guy's description says that he's "callous and cruel", and i've never really seen a mean yandere before, but idk. but if they were both yanderes... *swoon* so far i haven't seen any yandere tendencies from either of the guys, even though the second guy seems kind of crazy. it's just tagged as yandere, so i'm hoping it'll be good^^

bookanon@: I stepped accidently in an forgot-the-name-wiki and found a person who could be a yandere. I don't knew how it happened but I read someones biography and he seems yandere. O_o He is called Sebastian Morgenstern. The books is called The Mortal Instruments (+tv serie: shadowhunters) So I wanna ask you if you know this book (since you read very much) and if you consider him as yandere..
ReplyDeletehey! i'm so glad you brought up sebastian, because i all but forgot about him XD i read the mortal instruments series such a long time ago that i can't remember exactly the things he does, but he has very yandere-ish traits. he's super obsessed with the mc, clary, and if my memory's correct, he (without spoiling) tries to convince her to be with him multiple times. he's also prone to taking things from clary by force (like kisses!!!)

i do know julian! i actually recommended him here not too long ago :P he's very much a yandere, and one of my favourites.
